Legacy MediaHub Privacy Policy
Last updated: 3 November 2026
This policy explains what information Legacy Communications Inc. ("Legacy", "we") collects when you use the Legacy MediaHub app and buy a MediaHub license, and what we do with it. In short: your media files never leave your computer, and we collect only what we need to sell and check licenses.
Your media files
MediaHub plays, organizes and converts files on your own computer. We never receive your videos, audio, photos or documents, your library, or your file names. The phone remote and Send to Air work over your own local network and do not pass through our servers.
When you use the free Personal plan or the trial
MediaHub does not send us any information while you use the Personal plan or the free trial. It does not contain advertising or analytics trackers.
Update checks
Once a day MediaHub asks GitHub, where our downloads are published, whether a newer version exists. This request contains no information about you or your files, but like any web request it reveals your internet address to GitHub. You can also check by hand from the Help menu.
When you activate a paid license
When you activate a key, and about once a month afterwards to confirm it, MediaHub sends our license server:
- your license key;
- a computer ID: a scrambled code (a one-way hash) made from your computer's hardware ID, so we can tell computers apart without learning the original ID;
- your computer's name (for example "Studio-PC"), its operating system (Mac or Windows) and the MediaHub version.
We use this only to make sure each key is active on one computer at a time, to let you move your key, and to help you when you contact support. The computer name is shown back to you when a key is already in use elsewhere, so you can recognize the computer.
When you buy
- Card payments are handled by Paddle.com, our reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle collects your payment details; we never see your card number. Paddle shares with us your name, email address, country and what you bought, so we can send your key and support you. Paddle's privacy policy applies to the information Paddle collects.
- Mobile Money and bank payments: we record your name, phone number, email address (if you give one), the plan, the amount and the transaction reference.
Emails
We email your license key and important notices about your license. We use an email delivery service (Resend) to send these messages. We do not send marketing emails unless you ask to receive them.
Where the information is stored
License and order records are stored with our database provider, Supabase, on servers in London, United Kingdom. Access is limited to Legacy staff who handle sales and support.
How long we keep it
We keep license and order records for as long as your license exists and for up to seven years afterwards for accounting and tax purposes. Records of computers a key was active on are kept while the key exists, so the move limit works and we can help you.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to the address below. If you delete your license records, we turn the key off. You can also deactivate a computer at any time from MediaHub's plan button.
Children
MediaHub's paid plans are not sold to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If we change this policy, we update the date at the top. Significant changes will be announced on this page.
